Open Houses To Be Held For Proposed Fixed Route Bus Service

Community open houses will allow an opportunity for citizens to gain information on the proposed service areas for the new bus service.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA- The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, through its Multi-Modal Transportation Services Division, Connect Douglas, has announced a series of community open houses for members of the public to view information on the proposed fixed route bus service.

The community open houses, which are public meetings, will allow an opportunity for citizens to gain information on the proposed service areas for the new fix route bus service. The open houses are scheduled to happen at various locations throughout the county.

· District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell is hosting a community open house on Wednesday, December 5 at Blu Rose Art Bistro, 6774 W Broad Street, Douglasville, Ga. 30134 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

· District 3 Commissioner Mike Mulcare is scheduled to host a community open house on Tuesday, December 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. at Sheppard of the Hills Methodist Church at 4283 Chapel Hill Rd in Douglasville, Ga. 30135

· Vice Chair and District 2 Commissioner Kelly Robinson is hosting a community open house on Wednesday, December 12 at Deer Lick Park Recreation Center, 2105 Mack Rd., Douglasville, Ga. 30135 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

· District 4 Commissioner Ann Jones Guider is hosting a community open house on Thursday, December 13 at Dog River Public Library, 6100 Ga-5, Highway 5, Douglasville, Ga. 30135 from 6 – 8 p.m.

There will be no formal presentation at these meetings. Citizens are encouraged to drop in at any time during the scheduled hours. Displays denoting the proposed service areas will be available for viewing.
