Sheriff Promotes New Lieutenant, Asks For Applicants
As members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office are retiring and being promoted, the sheriff is asking for new applicants.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is congratulating a few members of the office for being newly graduated and for being promoted. At the same time, the office is asking for applicants to fill vacancies.
Sheriff Tim Pounds and the staff is welcoming: Mary Cater, a new hire in the Records Division; Deputy Paulette Cole, a Mandate graduate and new deputy; and Deputy Terrance Martin, a Mandate graduate and new deputy.
Also, the sheriff is congratulating Dale Kelly, recently promoted from a Warrants and Fugitive Sergeant to a Civil Division Lieutenant.

"The coming months will see more retirees and promotions, and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office will need fresh faces to fill the vacancies," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
The sheriff's office is hiring a jailer, paid $36,143.45 to $38,923.47, and certified deputies, paid $41,841.51 to $45,057.23.
