- In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, New Manchester High School (NMHS) in Douglas County welcomed acclaimed soprano singer Sindy Gutiérrez from Guanajuato, Mexico. Gutiérrez's visit was made possible by the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County with support from the Mexican Consulate. During her performance, Gutiérrez sang a diverse selection of songs in multiple languages, providing NMHS students with a captivating experience. (Douglas County School System)
- Douglasville has successfully concluded its Grand Opening Series at the GreyStone Amphitheater, a milestone in the community's cultural and recreational expansion. The concert series, held from Sep. 2-16, brought residents and visitors together. While some elements of the town green space are still being worked on, including the bridge space, shade for play areas, and final landscaping, the Douglasville Town Green is set to open later this year as a public park featuring play areas, green space, and a splash pad. - On Sep. 23, the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the relocation of Ginny Carver Photography with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Established in 2009, Ginny Carver Photography has been serving the community for over a decade and specializes in portrait-style photography for various clients, including high school seniors, families, individuals, and pets. - The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County is offering an eagerly anticipated "Fundamentals of Acrylics" class instructed by Kobe Opare. This class will provide an opportunity for participants to explore painting techniques, color mixing, and composition secrets over a four-week period.
