- Trent North, Georgia Superintendent of the Year, lead the 4th of July parade through the streets of Douglasville. Thousands of spectators were on hand. - The Tanner Health System is spearheading a blood and bone marrow drive in honor and support of beloved Dr. Linda McCormick, recently diagnosed with leukemia. The event will take place over two days in two Tanner Medical Center locations, both a short drive away from Douglasville. The first will take place on Jul. 18 at the Villa Rica location from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Classrooms A and B, while the second is scheduled for Jul. 28 at the Carrollton center from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Classroom 2.
