- Douglasville, your community needs your help! The Douglas County School System is currently running its "Stuff the Bus" school supply drive from now until Jul. 18. Stop by the DCSS central office to make a donation of school supplies, personal hygiene items, and certain clothing items. (Douglas County Georgia Schools via Facebook)
- Looking to add a little zen into your life? From now until Aug. 27, Ike Owings Community Center is hosting outdoor yoga every Saturday at 10:00 am. Sessions are $10 a person and all ages are welcome. (City of Douglasville - Government via Facebook)
- Douglasville's Junior Range camp is rapidly approaching! The 5-day camp includes hands-on, guided activities designed to help children learn more about Douglasville's parks and foster a connection to the natural world. The camp runs from Jul. 25-29 and is open to children from 5 to 12. Register by Jul. 15 to get your child a spot! (City of Douglasville - Government via Facebook)
- On Thursday afternoon, Douglas County District 3 Commissioner Tarenia Carthan broke ground on Punkintown Park. Commissioner Carthan was joined by Vice Chair Kelly G. Robinson and District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell III at the groundbreaking. The commissioner has long looked to bring another park into her district. (Press Release Desk )
- Douglas County is looking to streamline and enhance the bidding process for vendors for city projects. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners joined the Georgia Purchasing Group to publish and distribute the upcoming bid opportunities on the new system. Brook seeks to provide justice for crime victims in a firm but compassionate manner and to defend the community from those who seek to foster chaos.
