- It's never too early to get excited for the Taste of Douglasville! This year's event will take place Saturday, May 20, and showcase restaurants, businesses, and community booths selling products or services. There will be free children's events and other entertainment provided. Registration is now open for sponsors, vendors, and performers. (Visit Douglasville via Facebook)
- The City of Douglasville is turning 148 this year, and the entire town is invited to celebrate. On Saturday, Feb. 25 from 6-8 p.m., the Cultural Arts Council will co-host a soirée with the City of Douglasville government. There will be art, live music, food, and more! - Arbor Day is fast approaching, and the City of Douglasville invites community members to celebrate at Hunter Park. There have been newly planted trees courtesy of the efforts of the City of Douglasville's Tree Board and Douglasville's Parks & Recreation. - The Douglasville Police Department will be holding its next Community Enrichment Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 7-8 p.m. These meetings are designed to help local residents get more involved in programs that better the Douglasville community. If you want to get involved, you can stop by the Douglasville Public Safety Complex Community Room (2083 Fairburn Road) on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. (Douglasville Georgia)
- The Women of Douglasville group is hosting the perfect Galentine's Day celebration for you and your best girlfriends. There will be a savory brunch, plenty of cocktails (including bottomless mimosas), music, photo ops, and more, all at Table25 Fork and Wine. - Embrace Black History Month with the City of Douglasville on Friday, Feb. 24 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Community Center for An Evening Celebration of Love and Black History. There will be dancers, musicians, artists, and more from the local community. This free event is suitable for the entire family and is open to the public. (City of Douglasville Government)
- As a reminder, Say-Rodeo Royalty is hosting a supply drive for the nearby Heard County Animal Control Center at the Fun Day on Feb. 11! Items needed include bagged dog food, towels, blankets, toys, dog beds, collars and leashes, bagged cat food, cat litter, litter boxes, and cat beds! All donated items will go directly to the Heard County Animal Control & Shelter. While donations are not mandatory, they are very much appreciated. (SAY-Rodeo via Facebook)
- If you want to support Douglasville's Cultural Arts Council (CAC) in providing quality events, exhibits, and classes, consider becoming a volunteer! A Volunteer luncheon will be held on Feb. 13 at 12 p.m. Join the CAC for a free meal and an information session describing which upcoming events need volunteers.
