What's Open, Closed Christmas Week 2021 In Douglasville

The Christmas holiday will result in some closures and schedule changes on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and surrounding days.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Christmas may be different again this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But something that hasn't changed is the closure of many services in Douglasville for the holiday.

While Christmas is a federal holiday, some services may start their closures on Christmas Eve. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Friday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Saturday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day):

  • Douglas County government offices and courts are closed Friday.
  • Municipal offices for the city of Douglasville closed at noon Thursday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
  • West Georgia Regional Library System branches are closed Thursday through Monday. Libraries will reopen Tuesday at normal times.
  • The Douglas County School System is on winter break until Jan. 5.
  • Douglasville garbage pick up: For residents within the city of Douglasville's city limits, Monday routes will be picked up on Tuesday. The sanitation department asks that residents have their containers on the curb no later than 7 a.m.
  • This is a federal holiday and most U.S. Postal Service post offices are closed Friday. There will be no mail delivery or pickup, with the exception of Priority Mail Express, which is delivered 365 days per year.
  • All banks will be closed.
  • Grocery store hours vary.
