Reports indicate a School Resource Deputy, Deputy Sheriff Adam Tytler, saw Richmond reach in to her car, grab a handgun, and then placed it in her pocket as she turned to head back to the school.
Reports say Tytler immediately drew his firearm, ordered Richmond to the ground and secured her.
Deputies discovered that the gun was stolen in South Carolina.
Richmond refused to appear in court Tuesday, and the judge set her bond at more than $40,000. She remains in the Lake County Jail.
