Woman Charged With Pointing Gun Outside Lithia High School Game
Nydia Powell-Hicks of Douglasville is accused of pointing a gun at a crowd outside a Lithia Springs High School basketball game Tuesday.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA - A woman was arrested this week and charged with pulling a gun on six people outside a Lithia Springs High School basketball game, according to the Douglas County Sentinel.
Nydia Powell-Hicks, 42, of Douglasville is accused of pointing the gun at the group during a fight outside the gym following a junior varsity game between Lithia Springs and Maynard Jackson High School.
The fight escalated after a Lithia Springs High School student reportedly tased a student from Maynard Jackson High School, Portia Lake, director of public information for the Douglas County School System told the Sentinel.

It was then that Powell-Hicks reportedly pulled out a Taurus 9 mm Millenium Gen II semiautomatic pistol, according to court records.
She is charged with six counts of aggravated assault and one count of carrying a weapon in a school safety zone. Powell-Hicks is out on a $25,000 bond.

A co-defendent was also charged in the incident, but is a juvenile. He is out on a $2,000 bond.
