2 Juveniles, Armed Carjacking Suspects, Arrested After Police Chase

Two juveniles, accused in an armed carjacking, are facing charges following a Gwinnett County police chase in Duluth.

DULUTH, GA — Two juveniles accused in a suspected armed carjacking were recently arrested on multiple charges following a brief chase in Duluth, Gwinnett County Police said Thursday.

Police said officers responded on Feb. 12 to Ingram Road near Pond Road, where they said they found a stolen vehicle using FLOCK cameras.

Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the juveniles speedily fled the scene and engaged in a chase with the officers, police said.

The police chase ended when the driver losing control and crashing into a residential fence, police said. Then, both juveniles attempted to run but were quickly apprehended, police said.

The juveniles were not identified. Police said they have been arrested and have been taken to a youth detention center.

They have been charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, hijacking a motor vehicle, armed robbery, theft by receiving, obstruction, fleeing or attempting to elude police, criminal damage to property, failure to maintain lane, driving without a license and speeding, police said.
