The Monday blaze was at a complex near Satellite Boulevard.

A fire Monday (Dec. 9) at an apartment complex near Satellite Boulevard in unincorporated Duluth has left 32 people displaced.

According to a Gwinnett Fire news release, firefighters responded to a call about 3 p.m. at 4216 Pleasant Lake Village Lane. They found "heavy smoke and fire" coming from the center of an eight-unit, two-story wood framed apartment building, the release said.

The fire breached the roof and caused heavy damage to it. Firefighters found four units affected by fire and smoke.

There were no injuries, but 24 adults and eight children were displaced.

The fire started from cardboard being too close to an oven, officials said.
