Man, Woman Dead In Possible Murder-Suicide In Gwinnett Co.: Cops

Officers found a woman dead by strangulation and a man dead by hanging in a Gwinnett County home. Police said it may be a murder-suicide.

DULUTH, GA — A woman and man were killed in a possible murder-suicide that left the man dead by hanging at a Centerview Drive apartment, Gwinnett County Police said Friday.

Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Thursday to the 1600 block of Centerview after being called for a welfare check.

Police said family members reported not hearing from their uncle in a few days. Additionally, a family member reported receiving an apparent suicide note from the uncle, police said.

Officers forced their way into the apartment, where police said they found a woman dead by strangulation and the man dead by hanging.

There are no other suspects in the case, police said. The man and woman were not identified, pending next-of-kin notification.

The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct autopsies to determine the official cause of death.
