David Scott new associate pastor for youth at Duluth First United Methodist Church.

David Scott, the new associate pastor for youth at Duluth First United Methodist Church, spent the past 10 years serving college campuses across Georgia through the Wesley Foundation. He comes to the Duluth church with his wife Jane, whom he met while a student at the University of Georgia at the Wesley Foundation. The Scotts have two children Emma and William. "We are excited to enter the local church setting full time, especially in a community as warm and authentic as the one here at Duluth First United Methodist Church," Scott said in a recent church bulletin.
Duluth First Baptist Church is registering boys and girls ages 4-10 for a Free Soccer Clinic Saturday, June 18. The clinic will include instruction on soccer fundamentals, shooting and dribbling. The clinic will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on the FBD Ballfields. Register online here.
Vacation Bible School is scheduled June 20-23 from 9 a.m.-noon at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. We’re “Going Green for God” is the theme. Registration forms are available online at the church’s website or in the church Breezeway. VBS needs the following items: Fabric scraps, empty egg cartons, cardboard center of paper towel rolls, broken crayons or crayon scraps, 3-4 inch recycled plastic flower pots, large coffee cans, juice cans, clean recycled plastic food containers, i.e., sour cream, butter, take out, etc. Collection boxes are located in the Narthex.
