Duluth Summer Day Camp Starts Tuesday

Each fun-filled week of activities for ages 4-12 at Bunten Road Park has a different theme.

School’s out! Wondering what to do to keep the kids entertained this summer? The Duluth Parks and Recreation Department offers a summer day camp program starting after the Memorial Day Weekend. Each week has a different activity theme. 

Camp hours are 8 a.m.-1 p.m. or 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday for campers ages 4-12 at Bunten Road Park. Registration fees for half-day camps are $80 for Duluth residents and $100 for non-residents; full-day camp fees are $105 for residents and $125 for non-residents.

Summerpalooza: May 31-June 3 (Tuesday-Friday). No camp on Monday, May 30. The beginning to a fun-filled summer with plenty of arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor activities.

Healthy Kids Week: June 6-10. Introduces campers to a healthy lifestyle to kick off the summer. Campers learn nutrition and fitness in fun and appealing ways.

Art Attack: June 13-17. Campers experiment with drawing, painting, sculpting, and create their own original pieces in each of these mediums.

Slime, Grime & Goop: June 20-24. Children put on old clothes and explore textures, play games, do science projects, sing songs and have a messy good time.

Waterworld: June 27-July 1. Turn on the hose, grab a towel and cool off. Wet and wild water games for all campers.

Party in the USA: July 5-8. (Tuesday-Friday). No camp on Monday, July 4. Campers continue celebrating the 4th of July celebration with watermelon and pie eating contests, flag crafts, games, slip ‘n’ slide, and s’mores.

Sports Mania: July 11-15. Everyone will be a winner at this summer’s Olympics camp with races, games and more.

Kid Nation: July 18-22. Campers will get their passports stamped during this week of global exploration through games, crafts, snacks, and songs.

Nature Week: July 25-29. Gives campers a better appreciation of their own environment and natural surroundings through hiking, arts and nature crafts and environmentally friendly games and activities.

Aquapalooza: Aug. 1-5 Crazy fun...just add water. Activities will include bubble mania, water relays and much more. Campers are dared to stay dry.
