Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Duluth Patch!

As I prepare my family’s Thanksgiving Dinner and anticipate overindulging at the table, I’ve been thinking about what I’m most grateful for this year. Besides family and friends, a home and food aplenty, I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve such a wonderful community as Duluth as the editor of Duluth Patch.

It’s been nearly a year since Duluth Patch launched as an online newspaper dedicated to reporting on the things that are important to the folks who live here. I’ve been so impressed with the community spirit, the leadership and accomplishments. I’ve especially enjoyed covering community events and becoming involved with the Duluth Fall Festival.

My heart warms at the sight of new businesses filling the vacant storefronts and the excitement of merchants who have been struggling in the difficult economy to keep their doors open. Let’s support them by shopping and dining locally during the holiday season.
