LePage Named Duluth High Head Baseball Coach

Thomas LePage coached under former baseball coach Matt Champitto at Duluth HS for four years and one year at Shiloh HS.

Assistant Baseball Coach Thomas LePage has been named Head Baseball Coach at Duluth High School, according to an announcement issued Thursday (May 30) by DHS Athletic Director Bill Navas.

LePage coached under former baseball coach Matt Champitto at Duluth HS for four years and one year at Shiloh HS. He coached hitters and outfielders on the varsity level.

“Thomas has been my assistant coach for five years and has been an integral part of the turnaround and success that we have had at Duluth,” Champitto said. “I'm very excited that he has been given the opportunity to be the head coach, and I Iook forward to following his career.”

LePage has a degree in business administration from Jacksonville University in Florida (2007) and is currently pursuing a master’s of education degree in special education general curriculum from Valdosta State University. He graduated from Englewood High School in Jacksonville, FL, in 2002.

He lettered for four years on the Jacksonville University Baseball Team at the Division 1 lelvel and was a key member in two Atlanta Sun Conference Championships (2006, 2007).

LePage played in the 2006 NCAA Athens Regional hosted by the University of Georgia and the 2007 NCAA Chapel Hill Regional hosted by the University of North Carolina.

He and his wife Katie live in Lawrenceville.

“Coach LePage is an excellent teacher and an outstanding young man. He has a tremendous pedigree, and I am very excited about the level of enthusiasm that he brings to the program,” Duluth High School Principal Anthony Smith said.
