Man Kills Stepson In Duluth Shooting, Police Say

A 54-year-old man is facing murder charges after police say he shot and killed his 26-year-old stepson in Gwinnett County.

DULUTH, GA — A 54-year-old Stockbridge man is facing murder charges after being accused of shooting and killing his stepson in Duluth, Gwinnett County Police said Wednesday.

The man who died was identified as Jordan Calloway, 26, of Duluth, police said.

The deadly shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Venture Parkway and Market Street, police said.

Officers found Calloway suffering from a single gunshot wound when they arrived, police said. He later died while at a hospital, police said.

Police did not release details surrounding what led to the shooting, only that it was connected to a domestic-related incident between Calloway and his stepfather, Johnny Mays Blackshear.

Blackshear was arrested without incident during a traffic stop in Walton County, police said. He was charged on suspicion of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, police said.

He is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail, police said.
