Overturned Tractor Trailer Closes Duluth Highway

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA -- Firefighters were on the scene of an overturned tractor trailer on Duluth Highway, NW just south of Boggs Road at Sweetwater Creek in unincorporated Duluth Tuesday. The area was between Boggs Road and Meadow Church Road. Duluth Highway was closed in both directions due to the incident. There were no other vehicles involved and no injuries are reported.

The driver was checked by paramedics, but denied injuries. Firefighters and Hazmat Technicians worked to contain a runoff of diesel fuel that was leaking from a ruptured saddle tank on the truck. The diesel fuel was contained and did not affect nearby Sweetwater Creek.

State DOT was also on the scene.
