
Residents now have the chance to review the full financial reports for the City of Dunwoody for the fiscal year, which ended on Dec. 31, 2012.
The city recently released its Popular Annual Financial Report, the more detailed Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the complete auditor's report for 2012.
According to its PAFR, the City of Dunwoody's revenue in 2012 was down about $3.6 million or about 11.7 percent from 2011. From the breakdown of revenue, this decrease is largely due to a huge decrease in what is listed as "other financing sources," decreased property and sales taxes.
In 2012, Dunwoody received about $397,000 in revenue from "other financing sources" and in 2011, received about $5.1 million.
However, in 2012, revenue from "charges for services" jumped from a little more than $628,000 (2 percent of the city's revenue) to approximately $1.4 million (5.2 percent of the city's revenue).
Dunwoody Finance Director wrote in the PAFR:
"We are pleased to present this Citizen's Report, also known as the Popular Annual Financial Report for the City of Dunwoody's fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2012. The report aims to present useful information about your city's government operations, services, programs and financial condition. All of this information is provided in an uncomplicated, understandable format that we hope you will find both inviting and easy to read."
