Dunwoody Produces Video Series to Educate Citizens

The videos are meant to make the city "more approachable," according to city spokesman Bob Mullen.

In an effort to reach out to its citizens, the City of Dunwoody is producing a series of videos that will educate residents on city services and departments.

“The goal is to build stronger relationships with our residents by utilizing new and popular media making the City more approachable and more widely available,” said Bob Mullen, Dunwoody public relations director.

The videos will be posted to the City website as well as on the City’s YouTube channel.

The first one is now available on the City's YouTube channel and features recently appointed Public Works Director Michael Smith, who served as a contract employee with the city for years. (It is attached to this article.)

The videos serve as an interactive question and answer session with a city department which addresses key topics, projects and initiatives on the minds of residents and visitors and other stakeholders.

“We want it to become an interactive experience and grow to the point of creating a real dialogue between residents and their government.”

The City also plans to produce "man on the street" videos to address questions of residents directly.

The video series was produced at a cost of $4,800, according to the Dunwoody Crier.

Residents are encouraged to submit questions to the City and a video response from the corresponding department head will be created and posted on the City’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.comcityofdunwoody.  Questions and inquiries can be submitted via video and sent directly to the City through a link or by submitting the question in an email to news@dunwoodyga.gov.
