Dunwoody Speed Limit Signs Display Conflicting Numbers

Drivers have been snapping and posting pictures of the speed limit signs online.

The digital speed limit signs on the side of I-285 in Dunwoody are causing confusion among drivers.

Photos posted online show the signs next to each other on opposite sides of the interstate displaying different numbers such as 54 and 65 mph or 6 and 35 mph, Channel 2 Action News reports.

The signs have been implemented for about two weeks. A variable speed limits (VSL) system was put into effect Oct. 5 as a way to control the speed limit should an accident or delay occur.

“We’re entering the second week of having the system online. Lanes should be driving one speed, not two,” the Georgia Department of Transportation wrote in a statement to Channel 2 Action News. “We are experiencing minor glitches with a few of the signs, but they should all be fixed by the end of the week.”
