DUNWOODY, GA -- Funeral plans for a Dunwoody High School student who died while in Florida on spring break have been announced, Patch has learned.
Phineas Haq, a sophomore, passed away on April 4 when he fell while running, the school's basketball coach told WXIA. The tragic development has shocked the close-knit communities of Dunwoody High School and Dunwoody United Methodist Church, which he and his family were a part of.
The news of Phineas' passing has spurred an outpouring of support from people online, including the hashtag #PhineasStrong. His church has asked members to don a blue ribbon in remembrance of the teen.

Andrew Chappell, a youth minister at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, posted this online bulletin on Thursday:
We are all deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Phineas Haq. He was a beloved member of this Church and community, and many of us are at a loss for words. It has been particularly difficult in this time of grief because many of us have been in so many different places on spring break. That is why I think it is important for us to be together. Sunday evening, April 9th, from 6:30-7:00 pm we will come together in the Youth Area of Dunwoody United Methodist Church to remember Phineas.
The church is inviting Dunwoody youths to gather Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the youth area "to recognize, mourn and celebrate Phineas."
The memorial service for Phineas Haq will be held at Dunwoody United Methodist Church's Sanctuary on Saturday, April 15. The service will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Phineas Haq Memorial Fund at the church.
