Good News: Family Sleeps in Heated Home for First Time This Winter

An online fundraiser has raised enough money to buy a furnace for a Dunwoody mother and her two children who were living without heat.

A Dunwoody mother and her 8-year-old twins slept comfortably in a heated home for the first time this winter on Thursday night, thanks to donations collected by Crossroads Church of Dunwoody.

The woman and her two children have been living on a limited income and didn’t have the $3,800 needed to install a furnace.

In an email to Patch, Crossroads Church of Dunwoody thanked both Patch and the Dunwoody Police Department for bringing attention to the need through social media.

“We are grateful for a news outlet, a police department, and a community that truly cares for its residents,” Pastor Chris Jordan said.
