Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- An East Cobb high school student who was named the Georgia High School Association’s Region 7-6A player of the year will attend the U.S. Naval Academy. Kenneth Namango of Sprayberry High School has recently been named a soccer Senior Elite at Sprayberry and was recruited by the Navy for his leadership skills. (East Cobb News)
- Twice this week, Chalker Elementary School administrators in Cobb County found bullet holes in their windows. No student, staff, or parent has been at the school at the time of the shootings. As of Friday, local police continue searching for the suspects. (Yahoo)
- Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected to hit Georgia this weekend, with the greatest impact hitting the Southern half region. A couple of the storms could be severe between Saturday and Sunday. A full weather report can be found at the link.(Cobb County Courier)

- You can support the Pope High School Band this weekend by participating in the Recycling Fundraiser. Located at the Northeast Cobb Family YMCA, participants will have the chance to dispose of all paint, glass, metal, electronics, appliances, and more in support of the Pope High School Band. (Patch)
- Cobb County Public Library celebrated its first in-person graduation of the Girls Who Code group. After three months of classes, each girl received a swag bag and a certificate and celebrated with a special dance party. (Cobb County Public Library via Facebook)
