Former East Cobb State Rep Candidate Running For GA Senate
Luisa Wakeman, a Democratic candidate who nearly beat one of Georgia House's top Republican leaders, is running for state Senate District 6.
EAST COBB, GA — A former East Cobb state House candidate who was close to beating one of the House's top Republican leaders just announced her candidacy for state Senate this year.
Luisa Wakeman will run for state Senate District 6, which was redrawn to include the Terrell Mill, Powers Ferry and Chattahoochee precincts, as well as some of Mt. Bethel, Sope Creek, Sewell Mill and East Side precincts, East Cobb News reported.
The district is currently represented by Democrat Jen Jordan, who's running for lieutenant governor.

Wakeman, an East Cobb resident, lost by fewer than 500 votes in 2020 to state Rep. Sharon Cooper, an East Cobb Republican. Wakeman is also a former flight attendant and nurse. You can see her campaign website at electluisa.com.
