Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Police are investigating a shooting that possibly occurred across from a Kindercare in Cobb County on May 12. Investigators believe that the suspect and the victim were in separate vehicles when the shooting occurred after an argument on Wade Green Road. Due to the circumstances, investigators speculate that the incident could be road rage and do not think this is an immediate threat to the public. The victim is in the hospital as of May 12 and is expected to live. (WSB-TV 2)
  2. According to the Cobb Board of Tax Asessors' chief appraiser Stephen White, the “vast majority” of Cobb County homeowners will get higher property tax assessments in 2023 due to a “red-hot” real estate market. White said homeowners should look at the Cobb Tax Asessor’s website to view home sales in their area to get a feel for the appropriate values. (East Cobb News)
  3. On Saturday, May 13, the East Cobb bookstore Bookmiser is hosting a launch event for “Anonymous Mom Posts” by Jennifer Golden. As an early Mother's Day event, there will be mimosas and treats served with the "mom-oriented novel." The launch will take place at 3822 Roswell Road from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (East Cobb News)
