Walton Choir Performs at Vatican

The tour choir stopped in the Holy See during its Thanksgiving trip to Italy.

Members of Walton High School’s Tour Choir spent their Thanksgiving vacations in Italy soaking in the local culture and giving several performances, including one at Vatican City.

86 choir members toured locales such as Siena, Florence, and Rome to perform with local choirs, make new friends, and immerse themselves in Italian food, art, history, and more, Cobb County Schools says.

The highlight of the tour was a performance during Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. The choir performed four pieces, one of which was composed inside that very church. The priest overseeing the Mass spoke directly to the choir after the homily, Cobb County Schools says.
