Marietta Woman Hit By Car, Killed While Walking Along Lower Roswell Road

Police say the victim, 55-year-old Elizabeth Hightower, was walking in the westbound lane of Lower Roswell Road when she was hit.

EAST COBB, GA — A woman died after she was hit by a car and killed on Thursday in East Cobb, according to the Cobb County Police Department.

Just before 7 p.m. Thursday, 55-year-old Elizabeth Hightower of Marietta was walking in the westbound lane of Lower Roswell Road when she was hit by a car.

Police said Hightower was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The other driver sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene.

The collision is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 770-499-3987.
