Here are the top three stories today in Gainesville:

  1. A Gainesville man was shot by Hall County deputies during an alleged gunfight on Apr. 10 and is now being charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer. Jason William Grindle, 34, was also charged with possession of a firearm by felony offense, and possession of a weapon while committing a felony. Grindle, who is wanted in Stephens County for warrants of home burglary, armed robbery, exploitation of an elderly person, and assault, was shot multiple times and subsequently hospitalized after allegedly firing on deputies while being served the warrants in his backyard.   2. Food Truck Fridays are coming back to the Lake Lanier Olympic Park! The new season will begin on Apr. 21 at the Northeast Georgia Health System plaza and will include Pico's Hot Dogs, Dot Bowl, Carniceria Tapatia, Bill's Grills on Wheels, and more. The events are open to the public with no entrance fee and will include live music from The Band Loula in April, Six Foot Ramblers in May, and The Murphs in August. (Yahoo News)
  3. Local Gainesville business Timberline Glamping will be managing "glamping" – glamour camping – sites in the Alabama State Parks system beginning on Apr. 21. The first site, located at Wind Creek State Park, will be followed by installations at Chewacla, Lake Guntersville, Cheaha, DeSoto, and Monte Sano parks. Owner Rebeka Self boasts an operation that offers tents with beds, linens, electricity, coffee makers, air conditioners for summer months, and heaters during the winter.
