- The University of North Georgia (UNG) in nearby Dahlonega has successfully launched its first cohort for the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) track in partnership with the Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS). The program, designed for individuals with a bachelor's or master's degree in another field, allows students to complete their nursing degree in just 15 months and enter the nursing field quickly. With a 98 percent success rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and a 100 percent job placement rate, UNG's ABSN program offers an ideal path for career changers in response to the nursing shortage and provides valuable clinical experience through the partnership with NGHS.
