Here are the top three stories today in Gainesville:

  1. A 23-year-old woman in Georgia is facing multiple charges after she faked her own kidnapping and texted 911 claiming to be held at gunpoint, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. Police eventually located the woman, who was on a food run with her neighbors, despite giving fake names and locations during the exchange. She was charged with giving false information to police, making a false report of a crime, and more. (Yahoo News)
  2. Zachary Jeff Gee has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault after an argument at a McDonald's in Gainesville led to a drive-by shooting, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. During the argument, Gee allegedly hit the victim in the head with a gun and later drove to the victim's home to continue the argument, which led to him firing several shots at the house. No one was injured in the incident, and the reason for the initial argument has not been disclosed by investigators. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. NoFo Brew Co has acquired the assets of Tantrum Brewing and is set to open its third location in nearby Cleveland. This new location will also be the first independent craft brewery in Georgia to acquire another independent craft brewery in the state, and it will allow the brewery to expand its production capacity, taproom operations, and event offerings. NoFo Brew Co is also set to open a new location in Gainesville at 434 High St. W this summer. (Brewbound.com)
