Accident in Loganville on Sept. 1 Results in Fatality
A single vehicle accident on Sept. 1, 2012 on Highway 20 resulted in a fatality this morning when Joey Carter, of Loganville, died of his injuries.

A Loganville man died on Friday, Sept. 7, following an accident that happened last weekend.
According to Gordy Wright, public information officer with the Georgia State Patrol, Joey Carter, of Loganville, died during the overnight hours as a result of a single vehicle accident that happened on Georgia 20 on Sept. 1. Wright said it happened at about 2:07 a.m. Saturday morning on Georgia Highway 20, just south of Centerville-Rosebud Road.
"Carter was driving a 1999 Ford F150 southbound on GA 20 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the ditch on the east shoulder," Wright said. "The vehicle then hit a culvert and overturned several times. Carter was ejected. Seat belt was not in use and alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor."
According to Carter's Facebook page, he was widowed and had two young sons, 9 and 10. Members of the community reported that Carter lost his wife to cancer not too long ago.
