Officers describe the conditions as among the worst they’ve seen, while surviving dogs are now receiving treatment at the county animal shelter as the investigation continues.

Coyote who attacked metro Atlanta resident and dog tests positive for rabies (wgauradio.com) — Health officials confirm a coyote involved in multiple weekend attacks in Buford has tested positive for rabies, injuring several Gwinnett County residents and dogs. Neighbors are urged to keep pets’ rabies shots current, seek immediate medical care after any possible exposure, and report strange animal behavior to GNR Public Health or Gwinnett Animal Welfare for follow-up.

Gwinnett mother holds graduation party for son killed before he could graduate (wsbtv.com) — A Gwinnett County mother recently held a bittersweet graduation-themed homegoing party for her 17-year-old son, an Archer High School student killed while visiting family in Savannah. As she grieves, she’s sharing his story, her advocacy work with children, and details on a fundraiser to help with expenses after the shooting.

Braves, Jose Azocar Agree To Minor League Deal (yardbarker.com) — Atlanta has signed speedy outfielder José Azocar to a minor league deal, and he’s expected to open the 2026 season with Triple-A Gwinnett in Lawrenceville.
