Humans are social creatures. Forming meaningful relationships helps us humans to thrive. The Sanskrit language has a whopping 96 different words for love and Persian language has 80. They understood the importance of love. The English language, however, has only 1 word for love. The good news is that doesn’t keep us from experiencing all types of love.
Sheri: Types of love that come to mind are platonic love, familial love (which I am sure includes pets!), self-love, and of course romantic love…they are all such integral parts of everyday life...they give “meaning to being”.
Many of my original songs center around romantic love: lost love, found love, can’t find any love, hoping for love, dreaming of love, finished with love, best love, and forever love…just to name a few. We might have only one word for love, but we have plenty of adjectives to get the point across.

Bill: I need meaningful relationships--not just my romantic love with Sheri and familial love with our growing extended family, but also platonic love with friends. Friend connections are the glue that helps me stick to my community, the cement that reinforces. And….friends are also a source of corny jokes and clever conversation. One of the reasons I enjoy entertaining and blogging so much, is that it allows me to make friends and positively influence (annoy?) others--how my doin’?
So be sure and give the folks you love a smile, a kind word and a handshake or a hug today…you will appreciate it as much as they do!
