Mitsubishi Electric Building Rising in Suwanee Area
The massive facility near I-85 should open soon.
One of the largest building projects recently in Gwinnett is close to opening for business in unincorporated Suwanee.
The massive Mitsubishi Electric headquarters on Satellite Boulevard near I-85 is rounding into form. It should be fully occupied by mid-April to early May, according to a spokesperson for IDI, the developer.
The facility will house the North American headquarters for the company's HVAC (heating, vacuuming, air conditioning) operations. It also means that Mitsubishi Electric will be vacating its current facility in Suwanee, which is at Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road at Satellite Boulevard.

Groundbreaking for the 550,000 square foot facility in January 2012 was a star-studded event. Attending was Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal. Also on the scene were Charlotte Nash, chairman of the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners, and Nick Masino, VP of the Gwinnett Chamber and a former Suwanee mayor.
