• Three former Gwinnett County Public Schools students earn 2026 Grammy nominations (accesswdun.com) — Three former Gwinnett County Public Schools students who trained at Grayson High’s music production program have earned 2026 Grammy nominations for their engineering and production work. Their former instructor credits the Grayson Technical Education Program’s professional equipment and real-world experience for helping launch creative careers. The Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026.
   

• Arrest made in shooting death of Gwinnett teen Antonio Thornton Jr. (fox5atlanta.com) — A Gwinnett County teen, 17-year-old Antonio Thornton Jr., was shot and killed while visiting family in Savannah for the holidays, and a 16-year-old suspect has now been charged as an adult. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Franklin Leonard James Jr. faces felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and weapons charges. Authorities have not yet released details about what led to the shooting.
