• Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office employee arrested on child molestation charges (thegeorgiagazette.com) — A former probationary employee of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested on multiple felony charges involving alleged crimes against children, following an investigation by the county’s Special Victims Unit. Officials say the employee was still within a two-year probationary period and has since been terminated, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office.

• Gwinnett County Public Schools ordered to retrain staff after failing to follow IEP (fox5atlanta.com) — Gwinnett County Public Schools have been ordered by the Georgia Department of Education to retrain staff and fix special education violations involving an autistic student at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology by Jan. 24. The state found the district failed to provide required IEP accommodations and changed services without proper process, prompting a new IEP meeting and a corrective action plan.

• Man convicted of running meth labs in metro Atlanta sentenced (wsbtv.com) — A drug trafficker tied to meth conversion labs operating in metro Atlanta, including a major bust in Norcross, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison. Investigators seized large quantities of meth, guns, and cash, and another defendant previously received a 20-year sentence. The case was announced from Gwinnett County and framed as a warning to would-be traffickers.
