JOHNS CREEK, GA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Rose-Anne Schmidt who nominated her 8-year-old daughter, Camille.

Hometown: Johns Creek

Reason for recognition: Camille recently won an international pageant in Orlando, Florida. The title she won is called Role Model and is heavily based on community service. She will spend this year traveling the country and world to promote service projects. She is only 8!

One thing to know: She developed her own service project called Birthday Bags, where she provides a “party in a bag” to underprivileged children in our community.

Thank you for all you do, Camille!
