The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for potential wintry weather in metro Atlanta this week.
GEORGIA — It has been an unusual winter so far in Georgia, and the odd weather may not be finished yet. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for metro Atlanta for potential wintry weather this week.
There is a chance for some wintry weather across portions of north Georgia Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning with the potential for rain showers transitioning to snow showers as cooler temperatures move into the area. Any accumulations will be confined to areas above 2,000-feet and generally less than 1 inch with up to 1 inch at the highest elevations possible, NWS said.
There is another chance for wintry weather across portions of northern Georgia Friday night into Saturday. Some light accumulations may be possible across far northern Georgia.
