Fulton Schools Make Call On Wednesday Classes

The National Weather Service expects more snow and dangerously cold temperatures to move into the area Tuesday and Wednesday.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Fulton County School System has announced it will cancel classes for Wednesday, Jan. 17, the system said in a message late Tuesday evening. The system noted its cancelling classes due to "icy road conditions and extremely low temperatures throughout the county."

No students or staff should report to school or work. However, Fulton students and staff members are encouraged stay tuned to local news outlets, the district's Twitter and Facebook pages and its website for any change in information.

The Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Snow is moving into the area, so residents should plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are expected, with locally higher amounts possible.
