Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day On Nov. 10

Pre-registration is required for this event, which is only available to Johns Creek residents.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Keep North Fulton Beautiful will partner with the city of Johns Creek next month to host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 in the parking lot of Target and Home Depot at 5950 State Bridge Road.

Participants must pre-register for this event, which will offered only to Johns Creek residents. Citizens can register on Keep North Fulton Beautiful's website. If you need to verify your city residency, click here.

The following items will be accepted:

  • paint (limit 10 containers, max 10 gallons combined; suggestions for paint disposal of additional gallons is available here)
  • herbicides and pesticides
  • motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline
  • mercury (thermostats, thermometers)
  • batteries and electronics (CRTs, monitors, etc.) (Note: No alkaline — AA, AAA, A, B, C, 9V — batteries, please. These can be safely disposed of in your regular trash)
  • Propane cylinders
  • fire extinguishers
  • smoke detectors
  • cooking oils
  • fluorescent bulbs

Note: Please review these retailer/manufacturer take-back programs before bringing your TV or monitor to this event. Please DO NOT bring medical waste, needles, ammunition, explosives, pharmaceuticals and non-hazardous items, as they will not be accepted.

Participants should print the confirmation letter you receive and bring it with you to the event to expedite check-in.
