  1. Johns Creek High School student Hailey Yoo has reached the top 10 finalists of Duck Brand's Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest. The high-fashion creation, made from 14 rolls of colorful duct tape, features elements like retro 3D glasses, a film reel-inspired tie, and "admit one" tickets on the jacket and pants. Should Yoo win the $10,000 scholarship, the aspiring fashion and costume designer plans to attend SCAD or FIT for her ongoing studies. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. Johns Creek has been named the No. 1 place to live in America, according to a recent Livability.com study on cities with populations between 75,000 and 500,000. With a population of just over 82,000, Johns Creek nabbed the top spot due to its strong local economy, family-friendly community feel, and access to plenty of natural beauty. The rankings were determined by a myriad of factors, including real estate prices, wages, and environmental health. (Daily Mail)
  3. A Johns Creek woman reported to authorities that a group of scammers, posing as Best Buy's Geek Squad, sent a fraudulent email and threatened her over the phone. According to the Jun. 5 report, the email requested payment for a $417 Geek Squad subscription, despite the woman not having purchased anything from Best Buy in over 15 years. The victim said she did not provide any information or money to the scammers. (Appen Media)
