Local Cafe and Bakery Opens Up New Indoor Dining Space

Discover Made-From-Scratch Meals & Treats at Seven Sisters Kitchen

Seven Sisters Kitchen offers a delicious spin on breakfast or lunch. Started in 2015 by sisters Hala and Farrah, this local bakery and café has gone through many iterations – from a small tea and scone shop with limited seating maturing to what it is now – a full blown café with a large indoor seating area and outdoor seating, offering fresh breakfast and lunch items, their signature scones, and take-out meals.

Walk into Seven Sisters Kitchen and you will be greeted warmly by the staff. A large assortment of scones will be to your right, available in regular, gluten-free and vegan. Their standard menu features breakfast sconewiches (made on their signature scones), omelets, liege waffles, chicken sausage gravy, quiche, soups, salads, their signature chicken pot pie, shepherds pie, and hot or cold sandwiches made on scones or your choice of bread. During the weekend, they offer breakfast specials to make your brunch special.

They also have a rotating menu of hot meals inspired by the culinary background of their staff members. Walk in and you may find tamales from their Colombian line cook, Chicken Katsu from a staff member who lived in Korea, spaghetti and meatballs from another line cook’s grandmother’s recipe, or owner Hala’s signature green stew. All meals are made from scratch. This part of their offering is always rotating and always surprising.

When you’re ready, you can finish off your meal with their seasonal desserts. Items like chocolate mousse, cheesecake, cake pops, and mini cakes are all available in single size servings.

Pro-tip – if have dietary restrictions, look at the rim color on the labels of individually packaged items. Red means no dietary restrictions. Yellow means gluten-free. Green means vegan. Their menu also labels what can be made with dietary restrictions. This makes it easy for customers with allergies or special dietary needs.

Seven Sisters Kitchen also offers a substantial catering menu with hot breakfast bars, continental breakfast, salads and sandwiches. They excel at catering to allergy needs, offering a wide variety of options for customers needing vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options.

Aside from substantial variety, what sets Seven Sister Kitchen apart is their emphasis on made-from-scratch food using fresh ingredients. You can definitely taste the difference!

How long have you been in business?

We started our business in 2015. We look forward to celebrating our 8th anniversary this September.

What inspired you to start Seven Sisters Kitchen?

It all started with a scone - a quick way to feed Hala's husband breakfast. Hala, the stay-at-home Mom and former professional chef who along the way also managed to pick up an ‘oh by the way’ PHD in Psychology, wanted to make something quick and delicious for her husband. The scones became wildly popular with friends and family. So, she took it to farmers markets. And then opened the cafe.

When thinking about the cafe, we remembered what it was like growing up in a family of seven opinionated, stubborn, loving sisters and two wonderful brothers. Nothing was ever simple but, there was one thing we could all agree on – good food. Meals were where everyone talked, shared and reached across the table to say “I care”.

We wanted to create a place that carried on the tradition of bringing friends and family together by offering fresh, made-from-scratch meals and treats daily. We hope that, when you come here, you will enjoy everything like we do, around a table with family and friends, talking about life.

What makes your breakfast and lunch cafe stand out from the rest?
We make from scratch with the freshest ingredients. We love and care about our customers. Most of them say we are like the Cheers bar - a place where everyone knows your name!

What are some of your favorite dishes on the menu?

Our breakfast sconewiches are a customer favorite any time of day. I also love our chicken sausage gravy. Each item is made with a signature twist.

What is your most popular item?

Definitely our bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sconewich!
