How did you get into the insurance industry?
I got into the insurance industry straight out of college and have been in the industry ever since. I value being able to educate clients on their insurance needs. I shop rates with over a dozen local and national companies to find clients the best coverage for the best price.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help identify gaps in coverage that could be costly to my clients in the event of a claim. It is also very rewarding when I am able to secure better coverage and at a lower cost that is able to easy some financial pressure off of my client.
What’s something you wish everyone knew about insurance?
One thing I wish everyone knew about insurance is what the coverages of their policy actually meant and how those coverages would perform in the event of a claim. A lot of people chase the lowest cost possible, but often sacrifice pivotal coverages as a result. This leads to a potentially devastating claims experience over what might have been a few dollars difference a month in pricing.
What's something you wish everyone knew about working with a local agent?
Working with a local agent doesn’t cost the client any extra money out of their pocket. It gives you access to a local professional that you can talk to on a consistent basis, and gives you someone that can act as an advisor on your behalf to ensure you have a good policy with proper coverages. Many call centers have employees who may be brand new and could potentially give you bad advice. Another huge perk when working with an independent agent like myself, is we can continuously shop rates for you in the future as well if you get a renewal you aren’t happy with. This saves you from having to do the leg work yourself and potentially getting into a bad policy!
What factors should someone consider when exploring their insurance options?
These days it is wise to shop insurances every few years to make sure your current carrier is still the best fit for you. Price is important, but more than anything, always consider the coverage you are getting for the price. Saving a few dollars a month is not worth losing out on a few thousand in the event of a claim. People aren’t worried about the monthly cost of their insurance when they need it most, they are worried about if they have the proper coverage or not for the situation.
What would you tell someone who’s on the fence about getting a personalized insurance policy quote?
Unfortunately these days company loyalty isn’t as present as it once was. If a company needs to take a rate increase, it doesn’t matter if you have been a client of theirs for 10 years or 1 year, everyone is going to get the rate increase. With that in mind, if you feel like you just got offered an unreasonable renewal, or are currently paying an unreasonable price, reach out and get quotes from an independent agent like myself who can shop with multiple companies for you. You may be surprised at the findings! Likewise, if you haven’t revisited coverages in a while and are concerned with the quality of your policy, reach out and let us do a review for you.

What I like most about doing business in Georgia is the growth our state is constantly experiencing. It gives me a great opportunity to continuously connect with, educate, and help out a lot of really great people.

What’s one hidden gem in the Kennesaw area that everyone should know about?
On the first Sunday morning of every month in the Town Center Mall parking lot, there is a large car show hosted called Caffeine and Octane. It is totally free for spectators. It is popular amongst the car enthusiast community, but is also a really cool experience if you’d just like to get out there and see some cool cars you might not see every day.
