1 Dead, 4 Injured As Car Goes Air Born, Strikes Tree
One woman died and four people are injured after a car went air born Tuesday and hit a tree in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — One woman died and four people are injured after a car went air born Tuesday and hit a tree in unincorporated Lawrenceville. Based on the preliminary investigation, a woman lost control of her vehicle, on Callie Still Road near Laricks Lane, in unincorporated Lawrenceville.
She crossed over the eastbound lane, went through the westbound lane and left the roadway. Her vehicle went air born and struck a tree on the driver’s side of the car.
Candice Tate, 29, was seated in the backseat on the passenger side and died as a result of her injuries.

The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the second fatality accident of 2019. The accident occurred Tuesday at around 4 a.m., on Callie Still Road near Laricks Lane in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Lateika Powell, 27, of Monroe, was driving northbound on Callie Still Road, attempting to negotiate a curve, in a beige Toyota Camry. According to police, Powell lost control of her vehicle with a total of five people inside the car.
Powell suffered from serious injuries. Ebony Tate, 30, was seated in the front passenger and had visible injuries. Aaliyah Gonzales, 8, was seated behind the driver and had serious injuries. Mykal Tate, 5, was seated in the rear center and also had serious injuries.
The beige Camry was impounded to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for further analysis.
At this time, no charges have been filed in this case. Police said charges could come at a later time.
