Alligator Captured in Lawrenceville Neighborhood

The alligator had been living inside Dunlin Lake since at least the fall.

An animal rescue group has captured an alligator that was living inside Lawrenceville's Dunlin Lake.

Jason Clark, of Griffin-based Southeastern Repite Rescue, first visited the lake in the fall, but it was not unitl Wednesday that the alligator was caught, according to Gwinnett Daily Post. 

Clark sustained minor injuries from an alligator bite during the capture, the Post also stated.

Rescue officials said the reptile was more than three feet long and 15-20 pounds.
