Hooters for Neuters in Atlanta Celebrates Its Sixth Year

On Tuesday, February 26th, to mark World Spay Day, several local animal rescue groups and low-cost spay and neuter providers will celebrate by hosting the 6th Annual Hooters For Neuters event in multiple metro Atlanta Hooters restaurant locations. Bring in your flier and Hooters will donate $1 to the Society of Humane Friends of Georgia. Fliers can be found on the webpage of any of the groups mentioned below or in the photo gallery to the right. Hooters will accept these fliers all day on the 26th. All local events will have raffles, but the Hooters of Lawrenceville will have ”live music” from 5pm to 8pm. 

Hooters for Neuters in the metro Atlanta area was started in Lawrenceville, Georgia in 2007 to raise awareness of the public to the unnecessary euthanasia of over 100,000 adoptable companion animals each year in the Greater Atlanta area, and the immediate need to provide low cost spaying and neutering options to address this problem. The Lawrenceville event benefits Society of Humane Friends of Georgia, and Operation Second Chance: Jail Dogs, which is also celebrating its third anniversary this month.

With the participation of so many groups and so many Hooters stores, we are sure that 2013 will be the best year yet in raising funds for and awareness of the pet overpopulation problem in metro Atlanta, and the need for increased spaying and neutering as the smart, humane solution.  Proceeds go to spays and neuters, vaccinations, food, toys and veterinarian care.
