Motorcycle Driver Dies In Lawrenceville Crash

The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Wednesday. The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Duluth Highway (State Route 120) at Lakes Parkway in unincorporated Lawrenceville, GCPD said.

Samantha Dickson, 33, of Lawrenceville, was traveling westbound on Duluth Highway in a black Kia Sportage SU when she collided with Devaughn Jones, 24, also of Lawrenceville, traveling eastbound on Duluth Highway on a red motorcycle.

"After impact, Devaughn sustained life threatening injuries and died at the scene. According to the initial report, Devaughn was wearing a helmet,"GCPD added. "Alcohol impairment does not appear to be a factor in this collision. The case is still under investigation, and charges could come at a later time."
