- The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office has charged an 18-year-old for the murder of Timothy Buchanan on Oct. 2. According to authorities, Buchanan was shot by Shamuel Benjamin at Mariray Court in Lawrenceville. Benjamin is charged with aggravated assault, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, in addition to felony murder. - A collision caused a Gwinnett County school bus to flip early Thursday morning. The Gwinnett County Public Schools bus was carrying special needs students to Lanier High School when it was involved in a collision due to a vehicle failing to yield in Sugar Hill on Buford Highway near Sudderth Road. Officials say no one was seriously injured. (Subscription: Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- Gwinnett County Public Schools is set to receive $5.3 million in federal funding. The funds will go toward providing broadband internet access to students off campus. U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, whose office helped secure the funding, said, "I’m proud to secure these investments to provide Georgia’s students and staff with the digital services, devices, and support they need to thrive." - A shooting in a Norcross home has left a Texas man dead. Police responded to reports of a person shot around 6:45 a.m. in Estates Court on Nov. 27. Upon arrival, police found 22-year-old Aliton Joel Riveria-Zuniga shot in the head but still alive. He eventually succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- In case you missed it, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office will be holding an active shooter exercise this weekend. The exercise will take place on Saturday at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. During this period, residents may experience emergency vehicle sirens and delays in the area surrounding Constitution Boulevard, Nash Street, and Langley Drive.
