$7K In False Work Orders Leads To 3 Arrests: Police
A Gwinnett County apartment complex was charged for work that was never done, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – Investigators assigned to our Investigative Services Unit arrested three suspects after their investigation revealed the suspects defrauded a local property management company through fraudulent work orders.
Investigators received a tip at the beginning of February indicating that Paces Crossing Apartments manager Gertrudis Illescas conspired with CK Construction’s owner and manager Ki Won Kim and Bagjoon Kim (respectively) to generate fraudulent work orders for the apartment complex, which is owned by Greenwood Star LLC.
The work requested in the fraudulent work orders was never completed, but Greenwood Star LLC was invoiced. When the fraudulent invoices were paid in full, the money was divided among the apartment property manager and the construction company owner. The suspects fraudulently obtained approximately $7,000 through 16 similar transactions.

Sheriff Butch Conway praised the efforts of the investigators involved with this case saying, “It’s unfortunate when honest business owners are cheated by managers they’ve entrusted. I’m glad we were able to stop this criminal activity before further financial loss was sustained.”
